Kalamoir Regional Park Fuel Reduction and Beetle Removal
Project consisted of removal of designated trees to create an area of reduced vegetation stocking levels, to produce a defensible area adjacent to structures on the boundary of the park. The project objectives were to remove and destroy trees infected with western pine beetle and remove trees that pose a threat to public safety.
- Removal of beetle trees using track equipped ATV with self-loading log trailer
- Steep and rocky terrain requiring use walking excavator to hoe chuck logs to access trails
